Laganas is the party resort of Zante

Laganas is well known for its partying holiday scene because it is the place to party on the Ionian island of Zakynthos, so if you’re interested in taking a holiday in Laganas then it’s not likely that you are intent on an early night with a good book. Laganas is becoming larger and livlier as each year passes with growing numbers of pubs and clubs opening as the resort develops.
There’s a five-mile stretch of glorious sandy beach and a one-mile long central road consisting of restaurants, pubs and clubs. Summing up what a Laganas Zante holiday is all about, lazy days on the beach or by the pool, a couple of drinks at the hotel or beachfront bar until the real action starts after the sun drops below the horizon. This is when the Laganas party atmosphere starts up. Revellers start moving into the restaurants, bars and clubs in central Laganas in numbers. The selection of Laganas restaurants is amazingly varied, anything from fast food to Italian, Chinese, Indian and even the occasional Greek Taverna.
Having said all that, there are a few pockets of calm at a few Laganas hotels, for example the Hotel Louis Zante Beach or the Zante Atlantis hotel. Both hotels provide family-friendly facilities out of ear range but just an easy walk from central Laganas. The weather in Laganas is virtually always sunny throughout the Summer. There is a wide selection of cheap apartments in Laganas, so you should be able to meet your budget whatever it’s level. Laganas is regularly featured on some fantastic last minute deals, so don’t rule out the likelyhood of getting yourself an amazing low budget holiday.
The long sands of Laganas stretch as far as the neighbouring resorts of Lithakia to the West and Kalamaki at the eastern end of the beach. Set back from the sandy beach lie pubs and restaurants, so taking a light lunch or an all day breakfast needn’t interrupt your tanning schedule. The beach at Laganas is a major habitat for the protected loggerhead turtles who lay clutches of eggs under the sands on some nights each year.
